Makeup Is Not Cruelty Free
Too many makeup products test on animals.

I recently bought Bath and Body Works lotion and hand sanitizer and now I'm rethinking that purchase. In fact, I have a feeling that later on this week there will be a return made at Bath and Body Works. I still have some I bought a few months ago and I'll keep that, but after that, it's a new world at my casa. Of course, I had known that my Cerave was not cruelty free - even though it claims to be - as do many products. For example, Bath and Body Works itself does not test on animals, but does state that some of their distributors might have to test on animals for their laws. This can loosely be translated to China, because China still requires animal testing. REQUIRES IT!
So, if you buy a product that it sold in China, such as Mary Kay or NARS or even Maybelline, you are participating in animal testing. I make it a rule never to throw away a product once I discover that it animal tests, but I won't buy it again. I do believe wastage is not as bad, but still quite bad, because it contributes to landfills and trash and that's another problem for another blog.
So many products claim to be cruelty free but when pressed, you discover they aren't. Such as Mary Kay. When I sold Mary Kay I drank the pink koolaid and somehow justified the animal testing that is done on animals in China so that products can be sold in China. I don't care how big the market is in China, how much money they are making in China, what about the morality of the animal testing. It needs to stop.
Below is a list of some of the big companies. You can also follow this link to a web site that has a comprehensive list called the "ethical elephant."
